“BiBi” is a psychodrama, in that it loosely illustratrates the defensive character structures the ego adopts, how it operates and the games it plays. The novel is written as a parody as I believe the ego parodies Love and life itself. The characters are illustrations of the patternings the ego employs. It creates several illusionary, or false selves, which are fragmented and in conflict with each other. So while it appears one character is victimising, or being victimised, by another, it is in fact the central character, (who is hidden), who is being victimised by her own ego and is seduced into betraying not only her True Self but also those she Loves as her ego reduces them them to mere reflections of itself.
More about all that in the companioning work,”The Ego Delusion“. But if you’re not interested in going that deeply, enjoy the story of a woman on a quest to find Love and don’t take it too seriously!
